For three days now we really had a nice weather in our town so our cabalens were so happy about it I guess…..Our street vendors and peddlers, laborers, construction workers who work hard for a living are more pleased as well…..We can see how difficult it is for them to earn a living when we really have a bad weather….
It’s really hard to earn a living….Even in the modern world we suffer from recessions….What more with those who have less….the more they suffer…..Imagine a construction worker in the Phils. would only earn 450 pesos a day (the highest he could get…this is about 10 dollars)….and the average construction worker would earn 250 or 350 pesos a day….and they need to support their families with basic needs….Paano nga naman?….
I just thought of this because we keep on complaining about our work at times yet we do not know there are more people who suffer more than we do…..Like in our case I’m a public school teacher and I’m on vacation and I am paid even during the summer break….I think we should be thankful already of the simple graces we receive each day…..
Why are there still people who aren’t satisfied of what they have though they are already blessed?…..So I guess it’s really true that the only things that could satisfy us are the treasures that we carry in our hearts….
Good morning to all….though I woke up really late^^….It’s been raining here in our town since yesterday which signals the start of an early rainy season I guess or is because of climate change as they say?…. Some of our incoming freshmen students are undergoing different types of entrance tests right now and I hope our schools will be able to accommodate more students so that they’ll get the chance to study in high school this coming school year….. I just thought of my high school years…..When I was on my first years in high school it felt like I wasn’t really serious on what I do during those times…..We would still play like kids then…..We would go to what we call White House on Villa Teresa in Angeles City and would roll down on some grassy hills with my classmates…. On my third year I even had Voltes V on the cover of my notes and won’t mind about it^^…. But when I was in my fourth year I began to change and was totally driven and really made a difference in my studies…..High school is an important phase in a student’s life to prepare him in a more challenging life in college…..You’ve got to finish your highschool to go to the next level which is more challenging…..As always life is a ladder process…. you’ve got to pass through each level to understand them better…. Oh it’s raining again and it’s ok…..It won’t rain forever isn’t it^^…..
This coming week will remind us again of the passion of Christ……I remember when I was in grade school at the start of the Lenten season I would always open the bible and read about the passion of Christ…..I remember my Mom and my Lola would not allow us to play during holy fridays…..We’re not even allowed to listen to the radio……We can only hear the “pabasa” or it’s like a recitation of how Christ suffered and came back to life during his passion…..Now only a few would follow the old tradition of sacrificing during lent…..It’s because of our modern views on religion, traditions etc…..Although we still have the pabasa…..yet it’s becoming more of a feast than a sacrifice…..It’s even harder to teach the youth now on Christian values because of the complexities of things around them……Yes we remember Christ’ passion yet to humanize individuals or be Christlike is not an easy thing to do for us now…..It’s now more on focusing on becoming successful only to fulfill our ambitions but not to help our neighbors and be good Christians…..Isn’t it that let’s say if I become a lawyer, should I say I want to be a lawyer because I could be famous and rich…..whereas it should be I want to help those poor who cannot defend themselves…..Even I as a teacher though I may have a mission…..still I sin every now and then and also have my share of weaknesses…..We can’t be perfect could we?…..God knows that we find it so difficult not to sin that is why He chose to die for us…..
